Parametric AM Design Tool – Accelerating the Twin Transition by removing design barriers


The ParAM activity will provide a design tool to simplify the design of parts to be processed by Additive Manufacturing (AM), developing parametric CAD models from which a full Design-for-AM (DfAM) model can be easily and quickly obtained, either by experts (AM service providers) or untrained designers.

It is expect that this design tool and related services will contribute to the twin transition (Digital and Green) of manufacturing companies in EIT RIS countries, mostly composed by SMEs, by removing existing barriers for these companies to exploit the full potential of metal AM technologies, towards improving their manufacturing flexibility and overall efficiency, particularly in the sense of zero-waste in the materials and energy consumption, besides the additional inherent cut in warehouse costs and supply time.
