Edge-Services for Components

Machine components are important data suppliers. They are installed close to the process and provide information about their condition as well as the respective process. What if this could be put to use?

ESCOM looks at the potential of edge cloud environments – new business models as well as savings through higher process stability or efficiency through use of less resources. The goal: Balanced edge cloud environments for sovereign component service systems in the manufacturing environment.

As part of the technology programme “Edge Data Economy”, the research project ESCOM is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action. The project tests the advantages of edge computing in industry-related application scenarios, working along the guiding principles of a Gaia-X-compliant data ecosystem. 13 partners and associated partners in this interdisciplinary project consortium make sure the requirements are considered from different perspectives.

ESCOM is part of the project ecosystem on data ecosystem, consisting of EuProGigant, DIONE-X, AMIDS, Flex4Res and LeOniDaS.
