EIT Manufacturing at SPS Italia 2025

From 13 to 15 May 2025, EIT Manufacturing South participated in SPS Italia in Parma, one of Europe’s leading events for intelligent, digital and sustainable industrial automation.

Promising startups from the EIT Manufacturing ecosystem, including Ampero, specialising in electrical systems for industrial machinery, and Quindi, an AI-based solution for production optimisation, showcased their innovative solutions.

EIT Manufacturing South’s presence was strengthened through collaboration with Invitalia, the national agency for investment attraction and enterprise development, playing a key role as an institutional partner, underscoring the commitment to growth and innovation in Italy’s industrial fabric.

During the fair, two startups from the EIT Manufacturing South ecosystem, CDC Studio and Neurality, were among the three finalists in the UP Challenge 2025, competition for innovative startups in the manufacturing sector. The final session was moderated by Silvia Zancarli, Managing Director, with Giuseppe Leonardo Pinto, Business Development and Innovation Manager at EIT Manufacturing, serving as jury member.

Two sessions held during the fair highlighted the importance of collaboration between institutions and enterprises in promoting innovation and sustainability in the manufacturing sector:

  • “From Data to Competitive Advantage: The Role of Data Spaces in Manufacturing”: This panel explored how data spaces can transform industrial processes, with a focus on the European project SM4RTENANCE, promoting secure data sharing to enhance predictive maintenance and production efficiency.
  • “Towards a Zero-Emissions Future: Opportunities and Innovation with the Net Zero Helpdesk”: The panel highlighted the opportunities offered by Invitalia’s Net Zero Helpdesk, an initiative funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) that supports enterprises in their energy transition and decarbonisation efforts.

Throughout SPS Italia 2025 in Parma, EIT Manufacturing South showcased a series of innovative EU-funded projects that are transforming the industrial landscape and promoting inclusion. These projects represent the European Union’s commitment to leading the transition towards a more sustainable, digital and inclusive industry:

At SPS Italia 2025, EIT Manufacturing South contributed to the conversations about the role of collaborative innovation in shaping the future of European industry. By sharing insights from startups, EU-funded projects, and strategic discussions, we aim to support the synergy between technology, sustainability and inclusion in addressing the challenges of industrial transition. The event reaffirmed the importance of an integrated ecosystem where institutions, enterprises and innovators work together to build a more resilient, digital and future-oriented manufacturing sector.
