Data Bites: Finding the unknown unknowns via Big Data Analytics

Welcome to the fifth episode of EIT Manufacturing CLC East’s Data Bites.

We serve our fifth Data Bites on Friday, 24th June 2022, 12:00 – 13:15 CEST with Dr. Andreas Kornherr on “finding the unknown unknowns via big data analytics”.

This Data Bites offers a short introduction to the big data analytics software tool Percipio, demonstrating how it supports the innovator to find relevant topics and keywords, which are completely unknown to the entrepreneur, i.e. so-called “unknown unknowns”. By using inputs derived from this software the identification and analysis of relevant future topics together with the collection of corresponding links to literature, patents and websites can easily be performed. You will gain insight into how the tool works and how you are able to find such unknown unknowns which pave the way towards real innovations. Thanks to the close cooperation with EIT Manufacturing, a link will be provided where interested users will be able to test this software after the session.

Dr. Andreas Kornherr studied chemistry and mathematics at the University of Vienna. After receiving his PhD in 2000, he was employed as a university assistant at the Institute of Physical Chemistry. Following research stays in London and Cambridge, he worked as R&D Manager for Mondi, focusing on innovation, materials science and nanotechnology. Since 2013, after the foundation of Percipio, he additionally worked as a consultant . He is also co-founder of printenergy (https://www.printenergy.at/), a company dedicated to flexible printed electronics. He holds several patents and is the author of more than 150 articles, book contributions and lectures.
