On 28-30 May Fiere di Parma will host this year’s edition of Smart Production Systems (SPS) Italia, the fair for the intelligent, digital, and flexible industry. SPS Italia is an annual occasion to discuss the most relevant issues of the future industry, recognised as a reference point for the Italian manufacturing industry.  

This year, the Fair will welcome the best of automation technologies and digital solutions, coupled with working demos and application cases, shedding light on the leading trends such as Generative AI, Industry 5.0 at the intersection of sustainability, resilience, and human-centricity, as well as green manufacturing, new business models, upskilling and reskilling.  

EIT Manufacturing’s Digital Twin Event

On the opening day of the event, 28 May, the main stage will welcome the CEO of EIT Manufacturing, Caroline Viarouge, while on 29 May EIT Manufacturing South will be hosting the roundtable “Digital Twin: the key to quality and sustainability in Manufacturing 5.0”.  

The Roundtable, which will take place from 11.30 to 12.30 CEST at Arena Next, will delve into the potential and challenges associated with the use of the Digital Twin in manufacturing. 

With interoperability, human interaction, and economic impact at the centre of the discussion, the event will showcase how the Digital Twin technology can revolutionise future business models, facilitate communication and collaboration along the production process, and help integrate the competencies and skills needed to address the challenges of servitisation and customisation.  

The Roundtable will be moderated by Alessio Gugliotta, Senior Programme Manager – National and European funded initiatives at EIT Manufacturing South, and will involve a Keynote speech by Giuseppe Biffi, Head of Digital Enterprise at Siemens. The event will also feature a number of leading experts in the field:
