Unlocking Innovation and Collaboration: Swedish Delegation of Produktion2030 Visits Austria
From 26 to 29 September 2023, EIT Manufacturing East had the pleasure of welcoming a Swedish delegation of Produktion2030 in Vienna, marking a pivotal moment in cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange. Over the course of three intensive days, the Swedish delegates immersed themselves in Austria’s vibrant manufacturing landscape, gaining valuable insights into the nation’s innovation strategies and governmental partnerships.
The visit commenced with an intensive workshop on Austria’s innovation policies and strategies. The Swedish delegates had the unique opportunity to explore the development of funding calls and programmes. Eight expert speakers, each renowned in their fields, illuminated the intricacies of Austria’s innovation ecosystem.
On the second day of the visit, the delegation visited Linz, a city known for its rich industrial heritage and vibrant innovation clusters. The Swedish delegation delved into regional funding strategies, cluster developments, and cutting-edge innovation infrastructure. Johann Hoffelner, Chief Scientific Officer, led a fascinating tour of the Linz Center of Mechatronics GmbH, while Sam Zibuschka and Hildegard Greco showcased the impressive GRAND GARAGE. Our appreciation extends to Klaus Oberreiter of Business Upper Austria, who offered valuable insights into regional funding strategies and programmes.
The final day of the visit was dedicated to showcasing Austrian innovation. The Swedish delegates had the pleasure of visiting the ÖBB Innovation Factory, where Sabine Prettenhofer unveiled numerous innovative initiatives of the Austrian national railway company. Moreover, the day also featured two dynamic startups. Benjamin Mörzinger, CPO & Co-founder of nista.io introduced their technology, designed to reduce energy costs for companies through data-driven solutions. Franziskos Kyriakopoulos, CEO & Co-founder of 7LYTIX showcased their pioneering use of AI to optimise maintenance schedules for machines and production plants. The journey concluded with a visit to the TEC-Lab of IFT – Institut für Fertigungstechnik und Photonische Technologien.
