Is green mindset a thing?

For SMEs green solutions are often not a priority, unless they bring economical advantage.
Description
“I wouldn’t say that SMEs think about it (green deal) on the day to day basis, maybe if that brings the advantage of lowering their costs, then, of course, for example, if they are able to have to get a certain material because it’s someone’s waste. I would say then, of course, there has to be clear, like business vision, as for example lowering the costs, which is also one example of the circular economy incorporated.”
“But then, for instance, there are also some SMEs that through their technology are trying to lower the energy consumption or lower the contamination of the thing. So there are many examples that I think the companies realize as well as investors that the private ecosystem is actually going towards the green direction, this is the business opportunity.”
“There are also many sustainable VC funds, so SMEs apply for them anyway, but their primary goal is to survive economically!”
Relevance
Not surprisingly smaller businesses cannot “afford” to think about green solutions as a priority of their business model. What could be a motivation to do so on a more daily basis? How to incorporate a green mindset in all of the company’s structures and processes? Would economic support be good enough incentive?
