EIT Manufacturing West welcomes a new network partner: ACCIÓ

EIT Manufacturing West continues growing with the incorporation of a new network partner, ACCIÓ, the Catalan Government’s agency for business competitiveness. This collaboration agreement signed today aims to promote the participation of Catalonian business, institutions, research institutes and universities in innovative projects in manufacturing at the European level. Belonging to the Ministry of Business and Employment, this organization actively contributes to the transformation of Catalan companies. It has a network of 40 offices worldwide, 7 regional offices in Catalonia, and collaborates with public and private institutions in building tomorrow’s company.

The agreement was signed today by Natàlia Mas i Guix, General Director of Industry and CEO of ACCIÓ, and Antoni Pijoan, Managing Director of EIT Manufacturing West. Pijoan highlighted that “Catalonia has a long industrial and manufacturing tradition and top-level entities, which turns it into a key region for the development of EIT Manufacturing”. ACCIÓ joins to a wide network  of 9 organizations that currently collaborates with EIT Manufacturing to boost greener and more competitive manufacturing industry in the West Region (Spain, Portugal and France).

On her side, Mas pointed out that “this collaboration will allow us to connect the Catalan manufacturing and industrial sector with the most innovative companies in advanced manufacturing in Europe, in addition to boosting the international growth of disruptive industry 4.0 solutions developed in Catalonia”.

The collaboration, which includes the joint organization of seminars, workshops and conferences to make it easier for Catalan industry to access the latest technological trends in Europe, will also promote the participation of Catalan companies in Calls launched by EIT Manufacturing. The first joint activity will take place during the Advanced Factories congress in Barcelona on March 29th.
