UPC joins EIT Manufacturing West’s ever growing partner network
The university, which leads plenty of rankings worldwide, joins forces with the largest innovation network in Europe, EIT Manufacturing, to collaborate in future endeavours and share knowledge and expertise.
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, is a public institution of research and higher education in the fields of engineering, architecture, sciences, and technology, and is one of the leading technical universities in Europe. In addition to training the future innovation drivers, The UPC’s research centres and laboratories generate knowledge and transfer their results to the relevant industries, fostering entrepreneurship and raising their competitiveness. The university, renowned for its role in industrial research at the national and international levels, is a knowledge hub that drives growth across the business sector, providing tailored solutions, specialised training, and access to a range of services and facilities.
The UPC, with a significant scientific production related to this topic, considers its participation in this community strategic since EIT Manufacturing brings together a growing network of first-level European partners (industry, academia and research institutions) and can benefit from its services and networking activities (projects, events and technological platforms).
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya becomes EIT Manufacturing West’s 21st partner, and the fourth University to join our network, together with Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology, Ecole Centrale de Nantes and Grenoble INP. UPC also completes the list of our Catalonian partners, following the unions in 2022 of Network Partner Acció and Research Center Eurecat.
EIT Manufacturing West is thrilled to announce the incorporation of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) as a new Member of EIT Manufacturing. As the #1 ranking technical University in Spain and among the top 20 in Europe, with nearly 30,000 students distributed in 65 Bachelor Degrees, 97 Masters (3 of them specialized in Manufacturing) and 47 PhD programs, UPC brings EIT Manufacturing into a new level specially within the Western European ecosystem development. They also have a strong background on continuous education (more than 270 programs) as well as a custom program to bring technology to the market, that managed to create 11 start-ups last year. On top of that, UPC has a long track record with other EIT Communities (being an active member on 6 of them) and is strongly tied with most of the current EIT Manufacturing community.
