EIT Manufacturing RIS Hubs Conference
“A ‘Deep’ Technology was impossible yesterday, is barely feasible today, and may soon become so pervasive and impactful that it is difficult to remember life without it.” Joshua Siegel, MIT Deep Tech Bootcamp co-founder.
Those questions pervaded the talks and panels of the EIT Manufacturing RIS Hubs Conference “Deep Tech in Manufacturing. The high Potential for RIS.” which took place in the framework of the InnovEIT festival in Athens.
Deep tech is not only a technology, but an approach that companies, start-ups, researchers, and the whole innovation ecosystem take as a reference to solve real-life challenges (political, economic, societal, ecological, etc.).
The conference shed light on the development of the deep tech ecosystem in Europe, covering all corners of the EIT Knowledge Triangle: Innovation, Business Creation and Education. EIT Manufacturing encourages and enables the connection of innovation actors, bringing together a growing network of industrial partners, leading academic and research institutions as well as start-ups and innovators across Europe.
The EIT Manufacturing RIS Hubs support EIT Manufacturing in this, engaging a constantly increasing number of individuals and organisations from RIS (Regional Innovation Scheme) countries in our activities. For more information on RIS, please see this overview.
Last but not least, the conference gave an impulse to boost the emergence of Deep Tech across the entire European continent. For that, the EIT Manufacturing’s Regional Innovation Scheme programmes enable the transfer of good practices and know-how using the EIT’s unique approach to boosting innovation in Europe!
