Flexible Human-Robot Collaboration
“The new manufacturing paradigm will combine humans with automation in a more effective and efficient way”
Description
(14:56) “Production needs to be more flexible. The most flexible tool that you have in production is the human. Human is a very flexible production tool, but also it is a tool that gets tired, has to have working hours, needs to be healthy, and so on and so forth. Has all kinds of limitations. So, the idea is to make production more flexible by having a combination of automation and human in a way that will allow to be more resilient. Having fully automated lines, that may not help because if they are hardware-oriented and sort of automated, they may not be flexible enough. On the other hand, if you have humans only… that’s not good enough, for obvious reasons. So the idea is that the new manufacturing paradigm should be the one that will combine humans with automation in a more effective and efficient way.
