Engaging citizens and pupils

Programmes engaging society and pupils

These programmes reach out to pupils, youngsters, society at large and other industries, to spur awareness and involvement in the field of manufacturing.

Increasing young people’s interest in manufacturing is crucial for the future of manufacturing in general,  and specifically for the supply of the future manufacturing workforce. Secondary school students should be aware of the challenges facing manufacturing (e.g. digitalisation), but also appreciate the career opportunities and technological advances being made in the field of manufacturing.

This programme fosters activities that create awareness about manufacturing and stimulate creativity and passion among the younger generations and diverse groups of disadvantaged people, to attract them to manufacturing education, training and jobs. Proposed activities leverage existing initiatives and networks that have a wide outreach and/or valuable impact, while bringing in added value that is specific to EIT Manufacturing.
