Skill development in AI driven Generative Engineering and Design Automation

About the project

The rise of AI in product development is catching engineers off guard, leaving them unable to take full advantage of these capabilities and opportunities. AIGEDA develops a course to remedy this lack of skills.

Purpose of the project

To create a comprehensive skills development programme for industry professionals that teaches necessary skills related to AI-assisted generative engineering (GE) and design automation.

Societal impact

Empowerment of professionals, students and managers with generative engineering and design automation skills, to drive innovation and improve product development.

Main results & insights

Three learning paths covering the basics of GE and its impact on topology optimisation and lightweight design as well as the implications for engineering and innovation processes.

Quote from the Activity Leader

The specific use of AI and the reliable evaluation of the generated results will be a necessary skill of future designers
